Businesses must subscribe to a high standard of ethics in order to operate effectively. Having a senior official within your company fail to meet that standard can have catastrophic results.
Imagine having a CFO who is involved in a shady real estate scandal. Not that he/she has done anything wrong, but can you imagine the results of shaken confidence by shareholders?
What about the CEO who becomes involved in some other shady deal. You're business may survive, but only if you are proactive and take action rather than hiding behind 'no comment' lines.
Church leaders are particularly prone to the scrutiny of their church members. Imagine the result if they were found to be involved in some ethics related issue.
