Businesses must subscribe to a high standard of ethics in order to operate effectively. Having a senior official within your company fail to meet that standard can have catastrophic results.
Imagine having a CFO who is involved in a shady real estate scandal. Not that he/she has done anything wrong, but can you imagine the results of shaken confidence by shareholders?
